Home Town Holidays entertained by Turpin High School Woodwind Quartet

The brisk air and the sound of music from the Turpin High School Quartet entertained us on Friday evening and Saturday. They strolled and played at The Sugar Cupcakery and Gayle's Vintage Clothes, too. Their music lifts our spirits and gets us all in the mood....

Cassie George

I have recently moved to Milford from Dayton, Ohio after getting married. I have taught multiple sewing lessons in the Dayton area including the Dayton Art Institute’s “Teen Project Runway” and look forward to teaching and working with students here. I started sewing as a young girl and just fell in love with the art. Graduating with a B.A. in Fashion Design from Columbus College of Art and Design and working in the industry for a number of years I have now have the chance to truly do what I love. I am starting my own business designing, creating and making accessories. I look forward to sharing my passion with all of you.

This Weekend

Milford celebrated our nation's birthday with a big street celebration, music, outdoor food, and a sidewalk sale at The Mercantile Mall, 100 and 104 Main Street. The booth, Eclectic Curio, had many shoppers and buyers. Many people commented on her fun way of displaying Retro furniture and decorative accessories. Pear McGee's booth of head vases, porcelain shoes and wonderful handmade purses and eyeglass cases always draws the attention of our shoppers. Her handmade work is made with special attention to color and texture using vintage fabrics, trims and buttons.

Lovatt House's booth is making room for more by offering a summer 1/2 price sale--it is a great time to snatch her vintage wicker rockers tables and settees. She has more and more to bring in when she makes room.

The Mercantile Mall is very hard to describe since their are more than 20 discriminating hunters of antiques and decorative accessories. Come to our charming town of Milford, Ohio and stay and have lunch at one of five great eateries. There are so many unique shops to explore.
